Dates

The Gathering is held over the Queen's Birthday long weekend, from Friday 10 to Monday 13 June 2005. The site will be open from 12:00pm on Thursday 09 June, and will officially close from 12:00pm on Monday 13 June.

Location & How to get There

The Gathering is held on a public reserve near Corryong, in northern Victoria. It is easily accessible via freeway and first-class roads, taking about six hours from Melbourne and somewhat less from Sydney. The site is covered in mature elm trees and poplars, and although these are bare in the winter, they add considerably to the atmosphere of the event.

From Melbourne:
Take Hume Freeway to Wodonga. Go through the centre of town and get onto the B400 (the Murray Valley Hwy), which runs east from Wodonga. Corryong is about 164km from Wodonga. You must pass through Bandiana, Bonegilla, Tallengata, Bullioh, Koetong, Shelly, and Berringama. Then turn south (right) onto the C545 to Omeo. (Note that this is the third turn-off to Omeo.)

The Festival Ground is approximately 3km from the turn-off. Look for the Gathering 2005 signage.

From Canberra/Sydney:
There are a number of ways to get to the site from the north; however, we suggest the following route: travel south west on the Hume Highway to Gundagai, then south to Tumut. From there, head south to Batlow. (The roads are secondary ones, but should be open in winter; others may not be, so it would pay to check.)

From Batlow travel south to Tumbarumba, and follow the road through the following towns: Maragle, Tooma, Warbrook, GregGreg and Towong. The next town is Corryong. Proceed through Corryong, and go 8km past. Turn south (left) onto the C545 to Omeo.

The Festival Ground is approximately 3km from the turn-off. Look for the Gathering 2005 signage.
